Edinburgh Airport to introduce £1 drop off fee

At Edinburgh rental car we provide low cost car rental to hundreds of customers who collect their vehicles at Edinburgh Airport every month. We understand however, that car rental isn't necessary for some visitors to the city who will have relatives or friends pick them up at the airport when they arrive.

This cost effective practice of being picked up and dropped off at the airport by friends and family rather than hiring a car or jumping in a taxi could soon become a little more pricey. Edinburgh Airport has confirmed today that it will be introducing a £1 drop off fee for drivers who wish to set down their passengers at the airport's main entrance.

The airport will begin charging for this in October and the airport's Managing Director, Gordon Dewar, has stated that the charge is to help pay for the improvements at the airport.
