Fuel prices rise across Europe
09 June 2010
At
Edinburgh Rental Car we work hard to make sure you receive the best possible car rental prices whether you're driving in our glorious capital city or at any of the 17,000 locations worldwide we can provide vehicles at.
Despite low car rental prices we can't save our customers from the high fuel prices being experienced across the UK and the rest of the world. Although many residents of the UK believe that we pay the most for a litre of fuel, research carried out by the Post Office has shown that we are generally cheaper than our European neighbours.
The most expensive country to buy petrol in is actually Norway with the average price per litre being £1.48 followed by the Netherlands at £1.45, Denmark at £1.37 and Germany at £1.30.
The cheapest European country to buy petrol in is Luxembourg at £1.07 per litre, closely followed by Spain at £1.08 per litre.
This is just another reason to add the cost of fuel into your holiday budget when renting a car in Europe and avoid any nasty surprises when filling up your hire car.
