Avis official car hire partner of Shanghai World Expo

Avis, the global car hire company, have announced that they will be the official car hire partner of the 2010 World Expo in Shaghai. The event, which ends in October, will play host to around 70 million visitors many of whom consider the World Expo to be the World Cup of technology and science.

It's interesting to note that Avis will provide special rates of chauffer driven cars. The reason behind this is down to the fact that the Chinese don't recognise international driving licenses. In addition the traffic in Shanghai can be very daunting and is very different to that in the UK.

As well as bringing an extra 100 vehicles to Shanghai, Avis will also be supplying 20 Mercedes Benz S Class' to the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office. The company has also partnered with Xinlv Travel to supply transport to travellers staying at 30 of the city's 5 star hotels.
