Another reason to rent a car when visiting Edinburgh

If you're planning a visit to our capital city and had been considering renting a car in Edinburgh, we've got another great reason why you should rent your own vehicle instead of relying upon Edinburgh's public transport.

An article in the Edinburgh Evening News yesterday has revealed that Lothian Buses, the city's largest bus operator, is facing an official investigation into why services don't run on time in Edinburgh. Scotland's traffic commissioner will be holding a public inquiry after receiving a large volume of complaints from local residents about the bus company failing to run it's services to schedule.

It is possible that Lothian Buses may face a fine as a result. However, they may be excused as it is thought that most of the delays have been caused by the infamous tram works which are currently blocking major bus routes.

If you're visiting Edinburgh soon and are planning on visiting any attractions outside the city centre, it may be worth considering car hire rather than relying upon public transport. It may cost more but you will reach your destination on time.
